Facilities

Bus Service

A daily bus service, servicing learners from Mobeni, Sea View, Malvern, Queensburgh and Pinetown and surrounding areas, is provided for day scholars.

School buses transport the boarders to and from Durban and Pietermaritzburg on a Friday and a Sunday.

Boarding

Weekly boarding is available for scholars from the age of 3 years for families who live far from the schoo or where daily transport to and from school is impractical.

We have 4 separate hostels in which learners are separated by age and gender. We seek to create a “home away from home” feel in the hostels and ensure that they receive nutritious, balanced meals. The school site is securely fenced and has manned and electronic security measures in place.

Classrooms

All our classrooms are equipped with projectors and educators are encouraged to make use of ICT to enhance teaching and learning.

Support Services

A full-time Audiologist attends to hearing aids, annual audiological testing for all learners and any other audiological requirements.

A full-time Speech Therapist provides group therapy to all Pre-Primary, Foundation phase, Intermediate Phase and High Level Support scholars as well as individual therapy to identified learners.

The medical well-being of each child is ensured by the daily full-time attendance of a professional nurse and a contracted “on-call” doctor.

The school ensures the “ear health” of our learners through a monthly visit by an Ear Nose and Throat Specialist.

An educator who is also an HPCSA registered counsellor is able to provide essential scholastic and other assessments to ensure the correct support and concessions are provided for all the learners at our school. She is also on standby to assist with any trauma-related counselling which may be needed, through the medium of South African Sign Language.
